| What: Eleanor Roosevelt High School AIDS Awareness Day
When: 9am-3pm Where: 7601 Hanover Parkway, Greenbelt MD 20770 Details: For this year of AIDS Awareness Day, Roosevelt students from the "You Choose Club", which is the Abstinence/Service club of the school and various other clubs in the school worked together to represent Roosevelt in the fight against HIV/AIDS. There were performances running every period throughout the day in the auditorium, as well as speakers who presented in classrooms. Acts from the WAIT Team, Flags Squad, Dance Company, Dem Raider Boys (the Roosevelt male step team) were performed that all centered on the message of honesty, value, and courage to stop AIDS through abstinence. The day was very successful and there was a strong positive response from all the classes in the performances. Special thanks to the "You Choose Club" sponsor Mr. Brady, and to all the Roosevelt clubs who did an amazing job in this year. Eleanor Roosevelt High School truly is at the frontline of all schools in their focus and to educate others and to take the action to fight against HIV. The AIDS Awareness Day was also featured in the Greenbelt Gazette Newspaper...click here to read the article |
