Donations gratefully accepted!

WAIT is supported by donations from individuals and organizations.  We are expanding to countries such as South Africa, the nation with the most cases of HIV/AIDS, Grenada in the Caribbean, and Kenya in East Africa.  WAIT depends on gifts of service, gifts of goods, and financial gifts to do our work.  Every bit helps!

Kenya Merchandise On Sale!

Recently, some of our WAIT members were able to travel to Kenya in order to start brand new WAIT teams there! Our new friends are working hard to spread the message of abstinence throughout their country, where with only 14% of the population having been tested, over 1.3 million people are infected with AIDS – 1.5 total deaths, 8% of women and 4% men infected, 1.7 million orphans, and 1 out of 3 babies born with AIDS for a total of 120,000 infants already infected. The situation in Kenya is critical, and that’s why their WAIT team needs all the help it can get!

We’re selling authentic Kenyan merchandise we received during the trip in our online store; proceeds will go towards the Kenya WAIT team, their supplies, and their transportation costs, which will allow them to reach out even further. And if you like to read up on what happened during the trip, the entire report is on the website, as well!

Washington AIDS International Teens

WAIT teaches people of all ages, races, religions, and cultures about the science of HIV. We advocate getting tested, living abstinent until a lifetime partnership, and good health care for those infected.  We teach through the performing arts and other talents and skills, including electronic media and communication. WAIT works with anyone wishing to stop to AIDS in their communities and across the globe.

Recent Events:

The DC WAIT Team had three performances between February 23rd and 24th. We began the first day at Browne Jr. High School, for an audience of several hundred seventh and eighth graders. The entire team invested a great deal of heart into this performance, as the DC area is desperately in need of this message. The students were very inspired by the performance, as was clearly shown by their exuberance during the final act. After the performance, so many of the kids asked for more information, and several donated as well!

Later in the evening, we headed out to the Redeeming Love Christian Fellowship Tabernacle in Bladensburg, MD for their newly formed Friday night Youth Group. Though it was for a smaller audience, this performance was equally as lively and filled with heart. The audience members responded very enthusiastically, particularly in the game show, where they displayed an impressive wealth of knowledge about HIV and AIDS. One of the biggest surprises of the evening occurred after the conclusion of our performance, when Pastor Robert Clemetson presented our team with a $300 check, and his wife presented us with an additional $100 from her organization! We couldn’t believe the generosity of the congregation. Their faith in our work gave us further resolve to work even harder.

The next morning, we traveled up to Baltimore, MD for an ACLC “Unity in the Community” Prayer Breakfast at the God’s Unlimited Power International Ministry. After the breakfast was served, we performed the skit and Hero, which was well received by the attendees. Our performance was followed by the main speaker, whose topic was “Addressing AIDS With the Heart of Christ.” His sermon related to a point that Lan made while introducing WAIT: that only love can stop AIDS.

This point really is the epitome of what we do in WAIT. Only through the giving of genuine love can our message be spread to all these people, and can each audience member be inspired to be a world changer, helping in the fight to end HIV/AIDS.
