WAIT teaches people of all ages, races,
religions, and cultures about the science of HIV. We advocate getting tested,
living abstinent until a lifetime partnership, and good health care for those
infected. We teach through the
performing arts and other talents and skills, including electronic media and
communication. WAIT works with anyone wishing to stop to AIDS in their
communities and across the globe. |

Recent Events: The
DC WAIT Team had three performances between February 23rd and 24th.
We began the first day at Browne Jr. High School, for an audience of several
hundred seventh and eighth graders. The entire team invested a great deal of
heart into this performance, as the DC area is desperately in need of this
message. The students were very inspired by the performance, as was clearly
shown by their exuberance during the final act. After the performance, so
many of the kids asked for more information, and several donated as well!
Later
in the evening, we headed out to the Redeeming Love Christian Fellowship
Tabernacle in Bladensburg, MD for their newly formed Friday night Youth
Group. Though it was for a smaller audience, this performance was equally as
lively and filled with heart. The audience members responded very
enthusiastically, particularly in the game show, where they displayed an
impressive wealth of knowledge about HIV and AIDS. One of the biggest
surprises of the evening occurred after the conclusion of our performance,
when Pastor Robert Clemetson presented our team
with a $300 check, and his wife presented us with an additional $100 from her
organization! We couldn’t believe the generosity of the congregation. Their
faith in our work gave us further resolve to work even harder. The
next morning, we traveled up to This point really is the epitome of what
we do in WAIT. Only through the giving of genuine love can our message be
spread to all these people, and can each audience member be inspired to be a
world changer, helping in the fight to end HIV/AIDS. |
