finalists for the 2007 Appalachian Film Festival!

 

Kenya's Wait

The 20-minute documentary features the travels of three WAIT team members and parent to the country of Kenya, Africa.  Kate Tsubata, WAIT parent coordinator and founder of WAIT, Kensei Tsubata, WAIT Year of Service member from Maryland and Claire Masuda, WAIT team member from Ohio traveled to Kenya in January of 2007. With their unique talents, the small WAIT team went to Kenya to help educate youth and adults about HIV/AIDS as well as learn from the native Kenyan people first hand about AIDS prevention methods and activities going on in Kenya.  What they discover is the power of friendship, community and family and that everyone has the ability to stop the spread of AIDS using their own unique talents and gifts.


Jerusalem-US Multicultural Project (JUMP) -- Dancing in the Streets

In 2005, the WAIT Team participated in an exchange program with the
Jerusalem Multicultural Dance Troupe.  In February 2005, the WAIT Team
travel to Jerusalem, Israel to spread the message of peace through the
performing arts and partnership of Israeli, Palestinian and American youth.
Subsequently, in July of 2005, the Jerusalem Multicultural Dance Troupe
travel to the United States to participate in a journey accompanied by the
same message: peace.  This amazing short film and documentary captures
the essence of youth from around the globe making a positive and influential
impact in the world through the choices and actions they make.
