Report from Kenya's WAIT

Dear Aunty,
Kenya WAIT has been doing well despite not submitting our reports regularly. As the year neared its end, we organized a conference here in Nairobi in order to introduce our activities to various organizations and individuals.
Kenya WAIT is currently working closely with outside churches as the idea of WAIT activities, from my viewpoint, is highly welcomed by outside churches and organizations. I decided that we should work closely with them so as to lay a good foundation for more activities.
I held the conference on the 1st of December 2007 during the World AIDS day and a total of 120 participants came. There were representatives from various organizations and
Institutions who were very inspired by the presentations on HIV from the WAIF view point and would like to be involved in WAIT activities beginning next year. Bearing in mind that this is an Election year in Kenya, we were not able to invite the Top Government representatives. However we were able to invite the District Health Officer from National AIDS control council in Kenya who too gave a presentation on how Teens and Youths can be part and parcel in the prevention of HIV/AIDS.
After the conference, most of them were inspired and even pledged to support the WAIT activities as from next year either financially or by hosting conferences and seminars.
In fact, one director from a Youth Organization based in Nairobi promised that all the Youths of his organization will join WAIT starting next year. The organization has a membership of more than 70 youths and this will be of great positive impact on Kenya WAIT.
I will still send you more report about the conference but for now I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and guidance that you gave me.
Truly I can see that God is really helping me out to lay a firm foundation for WAIT activities next year.
God bless you so much and looking forward for your reply and any guidance.
Sincerely
Willis
