Parkdale Performances
report by: Yuri Ishida
On November 29th and 30th, the WAIT team was invited back to Parkdale High School to perform for two whole school days. It was a very busy and hectic two days with many last-minute and even unplanned alternations made to the acts. But as usual the WAIT team was outstanding and the students were very inspired. Before every performance, Aunt Kate gave the First AIDS PowerPoint presentation doing a great job keeping the students attentive and providing important information every time. Each of the performances started with the breakdancing act which really woke the students up out of their Thanksgiving break state. Following the breakdancing was the skit, the game show, the song “Wait for Me”, the dance “A Rose is Still a Rose”, and the Final Act. During the lunch break for both days, Ms. Reed provided a delicious lunch for the whole WAIT team. Thank you Ms. Reed!
All in all, it was a very successful, fulfilling, and exhausting two days totaling seven performances. With so many students who saw WAIT perform, the awareness of HIV/AIDS and the importance of abstinence will definitely spread across the whole school and beyond.
