WAIT KENYA REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 2007
On February 24, 2007, WAIT Kenya had their first activity by planting some trees as a community activity. They planted a total of 1,000 trees. You cannot believe how these youths were so happy and inspired as they carried out the activity.

The Kenyan WAIT Team is growing so fast that, within less than two months, we have been able to get a total number of 20 members who are very serious and determined to do community activities and are looking forward to teach about the facts about HIV/AIDS and the devastating consequences.
Most of these Youths are college students and it is so amazing that they can sacrifice their time to come and do WAIT programs. They have shown a passion for their nation and their willingness to save lives with the vigor of their youthful age.

Some representatives from the District Offices joined hands with the WAIT Team to commemorate the tree planting activity.
The team does its training and practice every Wednesday as at 1400 to 1700 (2 to 5 p.m.) and on Saturdays. Despite not having enough knowledge in doing service for peace programs, they are going through an intense training on such areas and they are currently acquiring the knowledge required for the outreach programs.

DA WARRIORS for Christ, a gospel music performing team joined WAIT Team for the tree planting.

Willis and Gracia with the youngest member in WAIT Team
One of the youngest members in the Kenyan WAIT Team, could not be left behind in tree planting as she showed her concern for the environment and for her country. Though young, I can say that she has a fighting spirit. She gives us a bright future as many young people want to be associated with WAIT Team from the way they see one of their peers participating actively. Including such a junior member has created a good atmosphere to help the older people to cultivate their character and attitude.

After a tough day of planting trees, The WAIT Team gave a presentation to a group of Youths who had gathered and had helped in planting the trees. Here they are participating and cheering their colleagues team as they perform a dance.
This was our first performance, but it was really done perfectly. We did the break dancing, Poems and the Skit then culminated everything with a good dance. The day ended well and, though tired from a long day’s work and performance, the team was very happy and requested that in future we should have as many such programs as possible.
